The book is well written, easy to follow, and offers a great overview and detail of Green Building principles. Information contained in the book is useful to builders, consumers, and even policy makers. The book starts off with giving the reader a brief history of green building, to include information on green initiatives and different certifications available. The book mainly provides guidelines for design and construction of green residences - electrical, mechanical/HVAC, civil/structural/framework, site selection, material sourcing, fenestration, finishes, etc. What I like about the book is that it also features industry practitioners' experience with green residences, giving us their insights and best-practice systems & processes that we can easily follow. The diagrams contained in the book are VERY helpful. Also, I've had the pleasure of having the authors teach my class for Green Building at Georgia Tech's Building Construction Program. They're both highly proficient in the green field and they really believe in what they teach.
